This animated short film is my GRADUATION FILM about Ajja and Ajji, an older couple who team up together to make tender mango pickle while having mundane conversations and banter with each other. It celebrates the mundaneness and unique emotional intimacy of the couple, evoked through a simple instance of pickle making with a rural backdrop.

Director's Note
This Film is the beginning of understanding the direction of my practice. Through ‘Ajja Ajji – Uppinakaayi’ I am presenting a unique perspective of life and living that the couple live by. It is a life full of irony, the abundant nature they are surrounded by with the emptiness of faraway family within. They live in a world that is dear to them, plants that they grow, a house that they look after, neighbours who are closer than their own. In this little world they have built all they have is each other, they as a team navigate this mundanity through passionate little routines, sharing food and gossips. Their interactions highlight the emotional, intricate human connections combined with longing, dilemmas and meaninglessness of life we all experience.
